CO SB165

Increases the required bond for public administrators from twenty-five thousand dollars to one hundred thousand dollars, with bonds to be filed on an annual basis with the secretary of state.

Makes deputy public administrators subject to the same requirements as public administrators, including the bond requirement in subsection (4).

Requires deputy public administrator resignations to be filed with and approved by the appointing court before becoming effective.

Mandates that public administrators file copies of all fee statements with their statement of account and establishes a standard annual report form directed by the Chief Justice for all public administrators and deputies to use.

Sets the effective date for August 8, 2018, subject to a potential referendum petition and approval by voters in the November 2018 general election.
