HB19-1051 Summary

• The Division of Criminal Justice shall provide human trafficking prevention training to law enforcement agencies, victim service organizations, school personnel, parents, and other interested groups through train-the-trainer programs, direct trainings, and online programs.

• Training curricula must be developed in collaboration with the Colorado Human Trafficking Council, with priority given to areas of the state with limited access to other training resources.

• The Division shall report annually on trainings provided, starting January 17, 2020, as part of the human trafficking report required by statute.

• The Division may accept funding from public and private entities for training costs, provided donations are not conditioned on predetermined results and sufficient funding is available before training begins.

• This section automatically repeals on September 1, 2023, and is subject to legislative review under the state's sunset review process.
