Department shall vacate the Grand Junction regional center campus no later than July 1, 2018, or once all persons receiving services there on June 10, 2016, are transitioned to non-regional center residences, whichever is earlier.

Upon vacating, the department may either list all or a portion of the campus for sale OR enter into a contract to transfer all or a portion to a state institution of higher education, local government, or state agency interested in acquisition.

If the department cannot meet the vacating or sale/transfer deadline, it must provide quarterly written updates beginning no later than June 1, 2018, to the joint budget committee and capital development committee with projected timelines.

Act takes effect August 2, 2019, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires approval by voters at the November 2020 general election.
