CO HB1182

Requires the attorney general to represent the Department of Revenue in all driver's license and identification card appeals commenced on or after September 1, 2019, replacing the prior system where district attorneys represented the department upon request of the attorney general.

Permits the attorney general to appear for appeals hearings by telephone, video teleconference, or any other court-authorized means of electronic participation.

Takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 2, 2019, if adjournment occurs on May 3, 2019).

Subject to referendum petition; if challenged within the ninety-day period, the act will not take effect unless approved by voters at the November 2020 general election.
