SB19-159 Summary

• Extends the repeal date of the Passenger Tramway Safety Board from July 1, 2019 to September 1, 2030, allowing the board to continue operating for an additional 11 years.

• Implements recommendations from the 2018 sunset report by changing the title "program administrator" to "director" throughout passenger tramway safety statutes for consistency and clarity.

• Updates disciplinary action provisions to clarify that the board may impose disciplinary action and that such action may include letters of admonition sent by certified mail to area operators.

• Requires the board to contemporaneously advise area operators of their right to request formal disciplinary proceedings within twenty days of receiving a letter of admonition.

• Takes effect upon passage, except sections 6-9 take effect October 1, 2019 only if House Bill 19-1172 becomes law.
