Allows elected county officers in certain county classifications to voluntarily elect to receive 50 percent of their statutory salary in their sole discretion.

Election to receive lower salary must be made in writing and recorded with the county clerk and recorder during November of each year.

Officers may subsequently elect to receive a higher salary so long as it does not exceed the amount provided by law, with a maximum of one election change per year.

Funds saved by counties through officer salary reductions remain available for expenditure in the county general fund.

Applies only to counties classified for salary purposes under subsections (1.5)(a)(III), (1.5)(a)(IV), (1.5)(a)(V), or (1.5)(a)(VI) of the salary categorization statute.
