CO HB1126

Repeals the director of the oil and gas conservation commission's authority to delay final permit determinations based on objective criteria for additional analysis of public health, safety, welfare, or environmental concerns.

Requires the commission or director to automatically approve oil and gas drilling permit applications if a local government with "House Bill 1041 authority" has already approved the application.

Applies to local governments as defined in sections 24-65.1-102(2) and (3) of Colorado Revised Statutes.

Takes effect August 5, 2020, or subject to voter approval if a referendum petition is filed within the statutory period.

Includes legislative findings on the economic importance of Colorado's oil and gas industry, including 213,000 jobs, $31.7 billion in state economy contribution, and $400 million in property taxes to school districts.
