HB 20-1138: Public Real Property Index

• State agencies, higher education institutions, and political subdivisions must submit lists of all usable real property to the Office of the State Architect by December 31, 2020.

• Required property information includes address, size, zoning, owner contact information, development plans, and condition descriptions including vacant or underdeveloped areas.

• The Office of the State Architect must establish and maintain a free, searchable public database by July 1, 2021, updated within five business days of receiving new information.

• Agencies and subdivisions must notify the office beginning July 1, 2021 whenever they plan to sell or solicit offers to purchase usable real property.

• The bill does not require any entity to sell or modify properties they own or control.
