HB 20-1212 Summary

• Extends the sunset date for naturopathic doctor regulation in Colorado from September 1, 2020 to September 1, 2029.

• Requires the naturopathic medicine advisory committee to meet at least once each year and adds requirements for the committee to include a pediatrician and a member of a statewide multispecialty medical society among the three licensed medical doctors.

• Expands the naturopathic formulary to include vaccines (for patients 18+) and allows the director to add other biological substances including vitamins, minerals, nutritive substances, extracts, and their products by rule.

• Clarifies that unregistered individuals cannot use titles implying naturopathic licensure, including "naturopathic doctor," "doctor of naturopathy," "N.D.," or any similar title.

• Implements recommendations from the 2019 sunset report by the Department of Regulatory Agencies.
