HB 20-1372 Summary

• Modifies the abandoned mine reclamation fund to clarify it consists of money received from section 34-33-133 (2)(a) and money transferred prior to July 1, 2020, from the severance tax operational fund, plus investment interest.

• Requires the state treasurer to transfer any remaining money in the abandoned mine reclamation fund to the severance tax operational fund on June 30, 2023.

• Repeals Article 34 (mined land reclamation provisions) effective July 1, 2023.

• Removes the requirement to transfer $500,000 from the severance tax operational fund to the abandoned mine reclamation fund as part of appropriations for the division of reclamation, mining, and safety.

• Repeals the provision requiring transfer of $127,000 annually from the severance tax operational fund to a special account for the mined land reclamation board.
