Requires state-owned facilities to use the "accessible icon" (depicting a dynamic figure leaning forward in a wheelchair) instead of the traditional International Symbol of Accessibility for all required accessibility signage.

Applies to construction, acquisition, or substantial renovation of any state facility containing 5,000 or more gross square feet, effective after the State Architect obtains U.S. Department of Justice approval that the accessible icon provides equal or greater access under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Directs the State Architect, with assistance from the Colorado Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities, to seek federal approval from the Department of Justice no later than January 1, 2021.

The accessible icon is available free at accessibleicon.org and has been adopted by the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, the state of New York, and other organizations nationwide.
