Disabled veterans displaying a Colorado disabled veteran's license plate are allowed free entrance to state parks and recreation areas (excluding campgrounds) on any day the facility is open.

Disabled veterans and passengers in their vehicle are entitled to free park entrance when the license plate is displayed.

Any resident who presents the required documents for obtaining a disabled veteran's license plate (per section 42-3-304(3)(a)) at a regional or central office of the Division may obtain a free transferable annual parks pass.

The transferable annual parks pass can be obtained at regional offices, central offices, or other locations determined by the Division.

The act takes effect August 5, 2020, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case it requires voter approval at the November 2020 general election.
