SB20-081 Summary

• Requires the Department of Labor and Employment to include designated apprenticeship training program contacts from every school district and public high school in the Colorado State Apprenticeship Resource Directory by January 1, 2021.

• Contact information must include at minimum the contact's mailing address, email address, telephone number, and the high school or school district represented.

• Defines "designated apprenticeship training program contact" as a school designee serving as the preferred point of contact for students, parents, and apprenticeship programs regarding apprenticeship and workforce training opportunities.

• Requires the Department of Labor and Employment to cooperate with the Department of Education to receive and annually update contact information no later than September 1 each year.

• Effective date is 90 days after the general assembly adjourns, contingent on approval in a November 2020 referendum if a petition is filed.
