The Colorado Community College System must collaborate with local education providers to develop informational materials for parents of middle school students (grades 6-8) explaining the benefits and process of concurrent enrollment in college courses during high school (grades 9-12).

Materials must explain the types of courses available through concurrent enrollment at all types of higher education institutions, general enrollment requirements and processes, and must reference the Department of Education's concurrent enrollment website and local contact information for concurrent enrollment oversight.

Beginning in fall 2021-22 academic year, community colleges must distribute materials to middle school parents digitally at least once during the school year and once during summer months, with optional additional dissemination through public service announcements and paid social media placements.

The community college system may provide directory information (as defined by federal law) from local education providers solely for purposes of disseminating concurrent enrollment information to parents.

Local education providers must collaborate with the community college system in providing concurrent enrollment information to parents of grades 6-8 students beginning in the 2021-22 school year.
