Senate Bill 20B-008 Summary

• County board of commissioners may adopt a resolution by majority vote to reject all or any portion of a statewide disaster emergency order issued by the governor
• Upon adoption of such a resolution, the rejected order or portion has no legal force or effect within the unincorporated portions of the county
• The power to reject orders applies only to the governor's emergency management authority under Part 7 of Article 33.5 of Title 24
• County board must notify the governor and any affected state agencies when adopting a rejection resolution
• The act takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless subject to a referendum petition requiring voter approval in November 2022
