• Creates the Kidney Disease Prevention and Education Task Force consisting of 9 voting members including 2 legislators and 7 appointed representatives from medical, nonprofit, and patient communities.

• Task force shall meet at least 4 times per year and develop educational programs, sustainability plans, and awareness campaigns addressing kidney disease prevention, treatment, and health equity through workshops, screenings, social media, and media commercials.

• Requires initial report by December 1, 2023 and final report by August 31, 2026 on findings and recommendations regarding chronic kidney disease, transplantation, and higher affliction rates in minority populations.

• Appropriates $89,775 to the Department of Public Health and Environment for 2021-22 fiscal year and $1,882 to the Legislative Department for per diem and travel costs.

• Task force sunsets September 1, 2026 following standard review procedures for advisory committees.
