The House of Representatives approves Speaker Alec Garnett's appointment of Annie Kao to the Independent Ethics Commission, effective July 1, 2021, filling the vacancy created by Debra Johnson's resignation.

Ms. Kao will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term through June 30, 2023, as the House appointee to the Commission.

Annie Kao is the founder of Ascent Inclusion Consulting and brings 10 years of experience as in-house counsel for Vail Resorts, plus prior work as a commercial trial attorney and a judicial clerkship with Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary J. Mullarkey.

Ms. Kao has demonstrated expertise in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoor industry and serves on the board of the Share Winter Foundation and as a guest lecturer for multiple university outdoor recreation and business programs.
