• Establishes a mobile veterans-support unit grant program administered by the Division of Local Government to fund veteran-owned organizations serving veterans in rural areas or experiencing homelessness.

• Grant program provides two-year funding for two staff members and vehicle purchase for supply distribution and veteran transportation, with vehicle required to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

• Eligible organizations must serve veterans regardless of discharge status and have experience serving homeless veterans; division must adopt policies by October 15, 2021, begin accepting applications by December 1, 2021, and award grants by January 21, 2022.

• Creates Mobile Veterans-Support Unit Grant Program Cash Fund consisting of appropriations and gifts/grants/donations; division must submit renewal request to General Assembly by March 21, 2024.

• Appropriates $229,070 to the Division of Local Government for fiscal year 2021-22 based on 0.6 FTE assumption; program automatically repeals effective January 1, 2025, with remaining fund balance credited to general fund if not renewed.
