School districts must adopt policies allowing administration of nonsmokeable medical marijuana to students with valid physician recommendations registered with the state health department.

Removes school principal discretion to approve or disapprove medical marijuana administration plans; requires implementation for eligible students.

School personnel and volunteers may voluntarily possess and administer medical marijuana according to physician instructions; schools cannot require or discipline personnel for refusing to participate.

Requires safe storage in locked containers that do not significantly delay emergency access; students cannot handle the medication themselves.

Schools lose federal funding or located on federal land are exempt; private schools are not covered; appropriates $15,419 for legal services in 2021-22 fiscal year.
