Establishes a brain injury pilot program requiring the Department of Corrections to screen all offenders at one correctional institution for brain injuries and provide support services.

Creates a Brain Injury Support in the Criminal Justice System Task Force that must develop a comprehensive plan by January 1, 2022, including training requirements, screening procedures, and accommodations for individuals with brain injuries in the criminal justice system.

Requires annual reports to the legislature on pilot program implementation, including best practices for screening, staff training, service delivery, and accommodations for individuals who screen positive for brain injuries.

Appropriates $144,409 for fiscal year 2021-22 to the Department of Corrections for personnel services, operating expenses, and medical contract services related to mental health and brain injury support.

Both the pilot program and task force provisions are set to expire on June 30, 2024 and 2026 respectively, making this a time-limited initiative to evaluate outcomes and develop best practices.
