HB22-1022 Summary

• Establishes the Commissioner of Agriculture (instead of the board) to appoint and employ the manager of the Colorado State Fair Authority, in consultation with the board.

• Authorizes the Colorado State Fair Authority to collaborate with state agencies and receive information from industry representatives to develop displays of livestock, agricultural, industrial, mining, and other products and facilities.

• Requires the board to establish an approval process for industry displays to ensure they conform to statutory requirements and are appropriate for patrons of all ages.

• Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless subject to a referendum petition filed before that deadline.
