Transportation network companies must file documentation with the Colorado Division of Insurance proving they have secured uninsured motorist insurance coverage for drivers and riders during prearranged rides.

Required coverage amounts are at least $200,000 per person and $400,000 per occurrence for both drivers and passengers in the driver's personal vehicle during active rides.

Insurance coverage must be provided at all times a driver is engaged in a prearranged ride and cannot be rejected by the transportation network company.

Transportation network companies must cooperate with insurers during claims investigations by providing relevant dates, times, and details of incidents involving logged-in drivers.

The act takes effect 90 days after the 2022 legislative session ends, subject to potential referendum petition requirements and voter approval in November 2022.
