Replaces physician supervision requirement with collaboration model for physician assistants with fewer than 5,000 hours of practice experience or those starting in a new specialty.

Physician assistants with 5,000+ hours of practice experience are no longer required to maintain collaborative plans and instead must consult with appropriate healthcare team members based on patient needs and standard of care.

Establishes collaborative plan requirements including development at practice level, description of collaboration methods, competency evaluation procedures, and availability at practice site.

Allows physicians to enter into collaborative plans with up to 8 physician assistants; employers cannot require physicians to collaborate with more than 4 unless the physician agrees.

Extends similar collaboration framework to physician assistants practicing podiatry, with 5,000-hour experience threshold and specific collaborative plan requirements for podiatrists.
