State department shall obtain a vendor to provide statewide training on behavioral health crisis response for professionals working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with the deadline changed from January 1, 2022 to "as soon as possible."

Case management agencies, mental health centers, and other program-approved service agencies shall nominate one provider per geographic service area for training within 60 calendar days after a vendor is obtained, with up to 20 providers selected based on clinical background and prior experience.

Selected providers must complete training no later than one calendar year after nomination, replacing the original deadline of March 30, 2023.

State department shall give preference to providers in underserved areas when selecting from nominees if more than 20 providers are nominated.

Act takes effect 12:01 a.m. the day after the 90-day period following final adjournment of the general assembly, unless subject to a referendum petition.
