HB 22-1222 Summary

• Expands responsible vendor designation eligibility to include individual persons, employees, managers, and controlling beneficial owners, not just businesses.

• Requires individuals and businesses to renew responsible vendor designations every two years by completing an approved training program.

• Allows employees and managers with valid designations to transfer between licensed marijuana businesses without obtaining a new designation until their current one expires.

• Requires new employees, managers, or controlling beneficial owners at businesses with responsible vendor designation to complete training within 90 days of employment or hire to maintain the business designation.

• Applies responsible vendor designation requirements to marijuana hospitality businesses and retail marijuana hospitality and sales businesses, effective January 1, 2023.
