State Treasurer issues two warrants of $6,650,000 each to the Fire and Police Pension Association on July 1, 2022 and July 1, 2023 to fund death and disability benefits for members hired before January 1, 1997.

July 1, 2022 warrant is paid from the General Fund; July 1, 2023 warrant is paid from a newly created Death and Disability Payment Cash Fund.

Creates Death and Disability Payment Cash Fund in state treasury, funded by a $6,650,000 transfer from the General Fund on July 1, 2022.

All interest and income from the Death and Disability Payment Cash Fund is credited to the General Fund under existing law.

Appropriates $6,650,000 to the Department of the Treasury for the 2022-23 fiscal year from the General Fund for distribution to the Fire and Police Pension Association.
