Establishes new salary schedules for full-time elected county coroners in Category II, III, and IV counties, effective for terms beginning January 1, 2023.

Category II coroners receive mandatory full-time status with salaries equal to other Category II county officers (commissioners, treasurers, assessors, and clerks), ranging from $53,040 to $94,250 annually depending on subcategory.

Category III and IV coroners may voluntarily elect full-time status with board of county commissioners approval, with salaries matching their respective county officer categories if full-time is chosen.

New coroner salary provisions must be adjusted before January 1, 2024, and biennially thereafter according to existing salary adjustment procedures.

The board of county commissioners may decline full-time status for a Category II coroner only for cause after providing the coroner notice and a public hearing opportunity.
