Regulators must automatically dismiss anonymous complaints against licensed, certified, or registered professionals if the complaint stems from words or actions taken while performing official duties as an elected official or board/commission member.

Regulators may dismiss non-anonymous complaints against professionals if the complaint arises from words or actions committed while the person was engaged in official duties as an elected official or board/commission member.

The accused professional does not need to respond to or provide evidence regarding the complaint for automatic dismissal to occur.

The dismissal provision does not apply to words or actions directed at a specific person when the professional is acting in their professional capacity (as a licensed, certified, or registered practitioner).

The bill is declared necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, or safety.
