• Creates a Drug Repository Task Force within the Department of Public Health and Environment to examine drug repository programs in other states and develop a model for Colorado to safely redistribute donated unused prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.

• Task force consists of 13-15 voting members appointed by the Department, Department of Regulatory Agencies, and Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, representing patients, healthcare providers, pharmacists, manufacturers, and other stakeholders.

• Requires task force to hold first meeting by September 15, 2022, and submit findings and recommendations to the Governor and relevant legislative committees by December 15, 2022, addressing medication types, donation requirements, legal barriers, costs, and marketing strategies.

• Appropriates $47,423 from the general fund to the Department of Public Health and Environment for 0.1 FTE to support task force operations and program costs.

• Task force and authorizing statute automatically repeal on July 1, 2023.
