SB 22-107: Pikes Peak International Hill Climb License Plate

• Establishes a special license plate for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb beginning January 1, 2023, available for motorcycles, passenger cars, trucks, and noncommercial vehicles not exceeding 16,000 pounds.

• Allows the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb nonprofit organization to design the plate, subject to department standards and approval.

• Imposes an additional one-time fee of $25 for issuance or replacement of the special license plate, with fees directed to the Highway Users Tax Fund.

• Permits personalized Pikes Peak International Hill Climb license plates with additional fees required under existing personalized plate provisions, and allows transfer of existing personalized plate combinations to the new design.

• Appropriates $41,734 to the Department of Revenue for fiscal year 2022-23, consisting of $14,838 from the general fund for DRIVES maintenance and $26,896 from the license plate cash fund for plate ordering.
