Executive Director of the Department of Natural Resources shall conduct a study on state agency programs, resources, and needs related to native pollinating insect populations, ecosystems, and health in Colorado as soon as practicable.

Study may summarize current knowledge on native pollinator health, identify knowledge gaps regarding wild bee distributions, at-risk species, and best practices for state land managers, and recommend ecological land management practices and education/outreach programs.

Executive Director shall consult with federal agencies, independent scientists, and experts in pollinator health, and other state agencies including Transportation, Public Health and Environment, and Agriculture shall identify existing related programs and provide input.

A report summarizing the study and recommendations must be submitted to the General Assembly and Governor by January 1, 2024.

$179,642 appropriated from the general fund for fiscal year 2022-23, including $50,632 for 0.6 FTE personal services and $129,010 for operating expenses; this statute repeals July 1, 2024.
