• Repeals Colorado state law prohibitions that required legal immigrants and lawful permanent residents to refrain from executing affidavits of support as a condition of receiving public benefits.

• Removes restrictions on lawful permanent residents' ability to sponsor family members for immigration to the United States while receiving Colorado public benefits.

• Requires county departments administering benefits programs to identify and remove all references to sponsorship prohibitions from guidance materials, forms, training materials, websites, and communications provided to applicants and beneficiaries.

• Applies to benefits administered under the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing and the Department of Human Services across multiple assistance programs.

• Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless subject to a referendum petition that would require voter approval in the November 2024 general election.
