HB23-1119: Abolishing Abortion in Colorado

• Defines "person" to include an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth for purposes of homicide, assault, and wrongful death laws.

• Supersedes existing state laws relating to prenatal homicide, prenatal assault, or abortion regulations to the extent they conflict with the bill's provisions.

• Authorizes Colorado state officials and political subdivisions to disregard federal court decisions that purport to enjoin or void the bill's requirements.

• Makes any Colorado judge subject to impeachment or removal if the judge purports to enjoin, stay, overrule, or void any provision of the bill.

• Applies to crimes committed on or after the bill's effective date, with crimes considered committed before the effective date only if all crime elements occurred before enactment.
