HB23-1179 Summary

• Excludes the Agricultural Products Inspection Cash Fund from statewide cash fund reserve limitations specified in Colorado Revised Statutes 24-75-402.

• Establishes a maximum uncommitted reserve limit of 50 percent of the amount expended from the fund during the same state fiscal year, effective June 30, 2024, and each June 30 thereafter.

• Repeals outdated provisions regarding the transfer of the mandatory fruit and vegetable inspection fund balance from before July 1, 2009.

• Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly, subject to voter approval if a referendum petition is filed within that period.
