The Roundup Riders of the Rockies (3R), founded in 1948 by Frank H. Ricketson and Joe Dekker, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving western traditions and the relationship between cowboys and horses

3R members conduct an annual 100-mile trail ride during the third week of July in different Colorado locations, with membership limited to 35 riders plus first-year guests called "Colts"

The organization cancelled its 2020 "Big Ride" due to COVID-19 after 73 consecutive years of annual rides, resuming in 2021

3R members established the Citizen of the West fundraiser supporting the National Western Scholarship Trust, which awards over 80 scholarships annually to undergraduate and medical students from rural Colorado and Wyoming

The Colorado House of Representatives commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies and recognizes their dedication to horsemanship, public land preservation, and benefitting Colorado citizens
