SB 23-126: Department of Natural Resources Supplemental Appropriation

• Amends the fiscal year 2022-23 budget for the Department of Natural Resources by revising appropriations to Part XV (Natural Resources) of the state budget.

• Increases total appropriations from $346,382,160 to $352,777,916, with adjustments across multiple divisions including Parks and Wildlife, Water Resources, Oil and Gas Conservation, and Reclamation/Mining.

• Designates $2,100,000 in General Fund appropriations for implementation of Proposition 114 regarding reintroduction and management of gray wolves through the Division of Parks and Wildlife.

• Appropriates $3,850,000 from the Oil and Gas Conservation and Environmental Response Fund for plugging and reclaiming orphaned wells, available through fiscal year 2023-24.

• Includes funding adjustments across seven divisions with specific allocations from various cash funds including Wildlife Cash Fund, Parks and Outdoor Recreation Cash Fund, and Severance Tax Operational Fund.
