Extends the sunset date for the regulation of nursing home administrators by the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators from September 1, 2023 to September 1, 2028.

Adds a new ground for discipline allowing the board to take action against licensees who fail to respond in an honest, materially responsive, and timely manner to complaints filed against them.

Allows the board to send letters of admonition by certified mail to licensees under circumstances specified in section 12-20-404 (4).

Requires nursing care facilities to submit names of nursing home administrators to the Department of Human Services for a check of the Colorado adult protective services data system beginning January 1, 2024, to determine if they are substantiated in cases of mistreatment of at-risk adults.

Takes effect upon passage, except the nursing home administrator background check requirement becomes effective January 1, 2024.
