Incorporates the federal Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 (25 U.S.C. sec. 1901 et seq.), as in effect February 9, 2003, into Colorado state law.

Adopts related federal regulations found at 25 CFR 23, as in effect February 9, 2023, as state law.

Amends Colorado Revised Statutes 19-1-126(4) to require courts to ensure compliance with the incorporated federal act and regulations when a child is identified as an Indian child.

Declares the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, or safety.
