SB 23-272 Summary

• Removes the requirement for legislative committees to automatically hold joint meetings during March, August, and December each year.

• Requires committees to hold a joint meeting only if any committee member submits a written request to the committee chairs and Governor AND a disaster emergency has been declared since the last required meeting.

• Allows a requested joint meeting to be waived by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the total committee membership.

• Applies to committees that receive information from the executive branch during declared disaster emergencies under Colorado Revised Statutes section 24-33.5-704(4).
