HB 24-1062 Summary

• Authorized inspectors of metropolitan sewage disposal districts may enter and inspect any property, premises, or place at reasonable times to investigate violations of the EPA's approved industrial pretreatment program under 40 CFR 403.

• District inspectors may obtain wastewater samples and provide analysis results to property owners, operators, or persons in charge.

• If entry or inspection is denied, the district may petition district court or county court in the relevant judicial district or county to obtain an inspection warrant upon demonstrating proper need for entry and inspection.

• The act takes effect 12:01 a.m. on the day following the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly, unless a referendum petition is filed, in which case voter approval at the November 2024 general election is required.
