HB 24-1097: Military Family Employment Support Act

• Expands occupational credential portability to military spouses, Gold Star military spouses (spouses of servicemembers who died on military orders), military dependents, and spouses/dependents of qualified servicemembers relocated to Colorado.

• Extends temporary licensure, certification, registration, or enrollment validity period from three years to six years for eligible military family members with substantially equivalent credentials from another state or U.S. territory.

• Requires regulators to waive application fees for temporary single-state licenses, certifications, registrations, or enrollments issued to qualifying military family members.

• Defines "relocated" to include servicemembers and their families who moved to Colorado due to duty station assignment, permanent change of station/assignment, or transfer from active duty to the National Guard or Armed Forces Reserve.

• Takes effect September 1, 2024.
