Establishes the school safety firearm detection funding program administered by the office of school safety to disburse money to local education providers for purchasing, installing, and operating firearm detection software.

Eligible applicants include school districts, charter schools, institute charter schools, Indian tribes or tribal organizations, and boards of cooperative services that submit applications requesting disbursement amounts based on purchase, installation, and one-year operational costs.

Firearm detection software must be U.S.-developed without third-party data, protected by U.S. patent, include training databases with actual firearm videos, be designated as qualified anti-terrorism technology, integrate with existing security cameras, and have proven successful use by other states and school districts.

Software must be operated directly by the seller through a continuously monitored operations center staffed by trained analysts to alert school personnel and first responders about visible, unholstered firearms on school property.

Recipients must report to the office on software use, any firearm detections and law enforcement response times, false positive alerts, software downtime, and the office must submit annual reports to legislative education and judiciary committees by December 31 each year.
