CO HB1281

Allows the Colorado Economic Development Commission to approve up to 2 new regional tourism projects on or after September 1, 2024, with both projects required to be located in frontier communities.

Defines "frontier community" as either a municipality with fewer than 1,500 people located in a frontier county or the unincorporated area of any frontier county.

Defines "frontier county" as a county in Colorado designated by the State Office of Rural Health (Colorado Rural Health Center) as a frontier county.

Expands the definition of "regional tourism project" to include agritourism facilities together with ancillary uses, structures, and improvements.

Restricts applications for frontier community regional tourism projects to local governments located in frontier communities only.
