HB 24-1369 Summary

• Department of Revenue shall issue Colorado Agriculture special license plates beginning January 1, 2025 (or when department is able) for motorcycles, passenger cars, trucks, and noncommercial/recreational motor vehicles not exceeding 16,000 pounds empty weight.

• License plate design includes the tagline "Feeding the World" and must be submitted by or developed with the Logan County Cattlewomen, subject to department approval and conformance to department standards.

• Applicants pay the same taxes and fees as regular motor vehicle license plates, plus a one-time $25 additional fee for plate issuance or replacement, with the additional fee credited to the Highway Users Tax Fund.

• Applicants may apply for personalized Colorado Agriculture license plates upon payment of the additional personalized plate fee under existing law, and may transfer existing personalized letter/number combinations to new agriculture plates.

• Appropriations of $15,775 from the Colorado DRIVES vehicle services account and $17,431 from the license plate cash fund are made to the Department of Revenue for fiscal year 2024-25 to implement the program.
