Alice Borodkin, former Democratic state representative for Denver and Arapahoe Counties (2001-2008), died in April 2023 at age 89

She served on House committees for Business Affairs and Labor, Finance, Transportation and Energy, and chaired the interim committee on Economic Development in 2005

She sponsored House Bill 1143 creating the Interagency Task Force on Trafficking in Persons and was prime sponsor of Senate Bill 207 in 2006 making human trafficking a felony

Beyond her legislative career, Borodkin was a pilot, editor, women's shelter director, and author of the 2015 memoir "Caught Between the Bettys"
