Senate Bill 24-010: Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact

• Establishes the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact to allow dentists and dental hygienists licensed in one participating state to practice in other participating states through a "compact privilege" without obtaining separate state licenses.

• Creates the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact Commission to oversee the interstate compact, establish rules, maintain a data system tracking licensee information, and ensure state compliance.

• Requires participating states to accept national board examinations, implement criminal background checks, have continuing professional development requirements, and report adverse actions and disciplinary information to the commission's data system.

• Provides special fee exemptions for active military members and their spouses seeking compact privileges in other states.

• Appropriates $78,750 to the Department of Regulatory Agencies for implementation, including staff and information technology services needed to administer Colorado's participation in the compact.
