CO SB020

Prohibits hotel and restaurant licensees and tavern licensees from allowing sales of alcohol beverages for takeout and delivery in sealed manufacturer's containers without assistance from a licensee employee, effective January 1, 2025.

Exempts hotel and restaurant licensees operating lodging establishments as defined in Colorado Revised Statutes Section 6-25-201(2) from this requirement.

Repeals existing Section 44-3-911(7) and replaces it with new subsection (3.5) governing takeout and delivery sales.

Takes effect 90 days after the general assembly's final adjournment, unless subject to a referendum petition filed within that period, in which case it requires voter approval at the November 2024 general election to take effect.
