The State Department, Office of State Planning and Budgeting, and area agencies on aging shall conduct an adequacy review of state funding for senior services by August 2024, then every three years thereafter.

The adequacy review shall examine state appropriations for senior services from the prior three fiscal years and address needs of senior citizens requesting services under Article 11.

The State Department must report findings from each adequacy review to the House Public and Behavioral Health and Human Services Committee, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, and Joint Budget Committee by November 1 each year.

The State Department shall present findings from the adequacy review as part of its required "SMART Act" hearing under Section 2-7-203.
