• Allows drivers without their physical driver's license or instruction permit to present a digital/electronic identification credential instead while operating a motor vehicle.

• Requires drivers to provide digital identification to peace officers upon request when reasonably suspected of a traffic violation, same as physical identification requirements.

• Increases penalty for refusing to provide identification from a class A traffic infraction to a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense.

• Permits drivers to provide personally identifying information (such as name, birth date, passport, or out-of-state ID) to peace officers instead of physical or digital credentials if neither is available.

• Takes effect March 31, 2025, and applies only to offenses committed on or after that date.
