SB 24-135: Modification of State Agency and Department Reporting Requirements

• Eliminates or modifies dozens of recurring state agency reporting requirements, primarily by repealing provisions that required annual reports to the General Assembly or specific legislative committees.

• Changes reporting frequency from annual to multi-year intervals for several programs, including higher education reports (from annual to every three years for resident admissions reporting) and evaluation reports for various pilot and grant programs.

• Updates reporting deadlines and language in education, health, and natural resources statutes to align with current practices and remove outdated sunset provisions that were tied to the "SMART Government Act" requirement that reports expire after seven years.

• Consolidates reporting requirements by directing some departments to include information in existing annual reports rather than submit separate standalone reports (e.g., accountable care collaborative data).

• Repeals several complete reporting provisions that had become obsolete or were temporary, such as reports on medical marijuana delivery, domestic violence statistics, and early intervention services funding.
